Master Your Disasters

Learn from a specialist in PTSD, relationship, and adjustment problems to help yourself AND to help family, friends, or clients understand and resolve distress from past events. All CAN learn to handle strong negative emotions without "self-medicating" or other numbing, denial, or suppression strategies. Understanding and working through these concepts has helped many people reduce the need for 3-6 months of therapy, though some later opt to pursue therapy or coaching to address positive pursuits and rebuild hurt or neglected relationships.

Fernando Alessandri, PhD

I changed careers in 2009 to pursue clinical psychology and combine up-to-date research and practice in trauma recovery with my rich history of faith-based mentoring and fascination with philosophy, theology, art, comedy and the messages we absorb and live by. Now I'm moving beyond the confines of American healthcare to share the knowledge I have sifted and integrated. A new life awaits you and your loved ones!

My Background

I didn't pursue my doctorate in Clinical Psychology until I was 39! Take advantage of my abundant later-life education and years of business and mentoring experience.

I trained at UCSD and Honolulu VA Medical Centers, and worked with military Veterans from 2014-2017 and 2019-2021, with an emphasis on PTSD from combat, sexual assault, and other interpersonal trauma.

My doctoral dissertation and subsequent hospital program improvement project demonstrated high success rate of a single-session 2-hour intervention for trauma recovery, even with people with psychosis or addictions.

Since my earliest clinical placement in 2012 I have been showing that there is no Pandora's Box to fear. It's more like a cluttered attic that many people can learn to help others with – and benefit in the process.

This is NOT for helping people currently living in actual danger or abuse. It is for helping grieve a loss and reduce vulnerability to unhealthy behaviors.

This Self-Help and Other-Help resource is NOT therapy. Nor is it limited to addressing a single trauma the way most trauma therapies are.

Help someone get back the wonderful internal resources that are currently being depleted by all the impacts of an unprocessed negative experience.

In the 1990s I worked in advertising and have kept my passion for extreme efficiency and directness. I loved the challenge of delivering life-changing ideas in minutes vs. 3-6 months!
